During hair restoration surgery, I understand that they take hair follicles from the sides and back of the head and put it where you are balding. No. They bunch up the skin on a line on the back of the head (dosen't extend much into the sides), take out that strip, extract the hair follicles from that, and transplant that. They staple the strip line closed, and it heals into a fine line. See the Hairsite: http://hairsite.com/
