If the implanted follicles didn't reject, you would have the other persons hair texture. Hair follicles dictate the texture of the hair.

i'm not really sure what restoration means... but i think it might mean like how to make it healthy or thicken out again... here's what i did when mine was super thin and un healthy...

use main 'n tail shampoo and conditioner for horses every other day.. and on the days you don't use it use doves intense damage therapy shampoo and conditioner (the dark blue one) and when you're styling it use some heat protectors. hopefully this is what you're looking for... ha if restoration means something totally different then i guess i just look like a fool hu... :) hahaHair restoration?
eat healthy, treat your hair and scalp well, massage it, and use shampoos and conditioners that are made to strengthen hair. also try vitamins, like a multivitamin

    Hair transplant Vs. Hair restoration?

    Hi,

I asked earlier that I am going bald at front and thinking of having hair transplant but i want thickness too so whats my option hair transplant or hair restoration..all these famous hair clinic like bosley and other are they hair transplant or hair restoration?which one is costly ?Hair transplant Vs. Hair restoration?
With all due respect, the other answer has some medical inaccuracies. In male pattern baldness, follicles that are susceptible to a metabolic byproduct of testosterone stop producing hair. Hair restoration (also called hair transplant) transfers follicles from regions of the scalp that are highly resistant to this testosterone byproduct. You should have a very low rate of future loss of transplanted hair follicles.

The procedure yielding the best results preserves natural appearance by transferring hair in follicular units, clusters of one to four hair follicles, Plug methods are outdated and yield patchy, unnatural results.

Here are two articles about follicular unit hair transplant procedures and costs. My husband is a doctor and did a lot of research before getting his hair transplants (aka medical hair restoration). He is very happy with results, but you should anticipate two procedures at least 6 months to a year apart.Hair transplant Vs. Hair restoration?
Both are costly. Restoration works only if there is anything to restore. You cannot produce hair when there is no hair follicle. Some of your roots have died around the front -- that hair will never grow back. Transplant moves some live roots from one area of the body to another. They usually will become attached, and you will grow hair from them. Some don't last for long, because your body was programmed at birth to have hair only for a certain period of time. You can't change that.

You need to learn to live with what you have. However, being dissatisfied with yourself does drive our economy and keeps many people employed!

Thinking about hair restoration surgery? HELP!!?

So i am thinking of getting hair restoration. I just did some research on it and i am still a little nervous. I am wondering if anyone in the yahoo community has done this before or know someone who has done this. My question's are, How much does a procedure like this cost? Has anyone found it to be very effective? Does it hurt? Any answer's would help thank you..Thinking about hair restoration surgery? HELP!!?
A friend of mine had hair restoration and his cost was about $4500. Which falls into what i found online. I found that Hair Restoration generally costs between $4000 and $5000 but can get as expensive as $12000 depending on the doctor, and how much you are getting to restored. The website I found mentioned that grafts cost between 3-10 but the number of hairs a doctor puts in per graft can very so it suggested seeing a doctor and asking him/her about it. If I was doing hair restoration I would see a few different doctors and weigh the pros/cons of each one to make your best decision. Who knows you may be able to mention the different prices to each doctor to see if you can get your favorite to lower his/her price!

I hope this helped and good luck!!

  • Which is a better hair restoration process. Bosley or hair club?

    Hi There,

I did have a hair restoration procedure and yes, it was a Bosley hair transplantation. I had my procedure done back in July and couldn't be happier with the results. Since receiving the procedure I have kept a blog called BattleAgainstBald.com. The blog details the results of my Bosley hair transplantation and I also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and the other methods used to correct it.

I don't know much about HairClub because I never tried it out. But BattleAgainstBald.com's newest hair restoration blogger, Torrance, gave HairClub a try a few years back and expressed his feeling for it in his first blog entry. In short, Torrance liked it but Bosley made the most sense in the end.

I encourage you to check out BattleAgainstBald.com, as I'm sure the information there can answer a lot, if not all of your questions.

    Best of luck!

To know if you are an eligible canidate for hair restoration you would need to see a hair restoration specialist. From the website i found there is no minimum age for treatment, however it does say that most are over 21.Hair Restoration generally costs between $4000 and $5000 but can get as expensive as $12000 depending on the doctor, and how much you are getting to restored. Financing for hair restoration is available. The average Bosley patient who chooses to finance pays only about $70-$310 per month. Financing is available on approved credit. The payments you make will vary based on the amount you finance and the terms of your loan.

Hair/scalp analysis with hair restoration doctors using microscopes?

genetic hairloss runs in my father's side of the family (father/uncle) so I decided to seek a hair restoration surgeon to check the health of my hair. Aside from a small recession in the front, I still have a full head of hair, however, this doctor used some microscope to check my scalp and it showed some of the hairs were miniaturizing. He prescribed some drug called finasturide 5mg and said it was probably genetic loss since I told him it ran in my dad's family. I look in the mirror and I still have a full head of hair, so I don't think I buy into what this doctor says. My dermatologist says as we age, we all miniaturize, it is just part of getting older and if I don't show any visible signs I should be ok. I don't think I'm going to take this medication for life per that hair surgeon's advice just because I have a full of head of hair right now. What do you think?Hair/scalp analysis with hair restoration doctors using microscopes?
Research and my experience show that hair loss is inherited from the mothers side of the family.

Regardless, if you have a full head of hair, then the hair loss in front could be caused by reasons other than heredity.

Wearing a tight cap or headband, using tons of hairspray on your bangs and combing through it without washing the spray off first could cause breakage. Using a hair dryer close to your head could cause the hair to burn and frizz up causing miniaturizing. If this hair is burned then you are also burning your scalp so pl keep the dryer no less than 6 inches away from your scalp.

If you use a curling or straightening iron, you could be doing the same thing-using it too close to the scalp. If you damage or burn your scalp nothing you do to restore your hair will make it grow through a burned scalp.

Here are some tips that could help:

Always wash your hair spray off before combing through it.

Never battle with your hair tangles. It causes breakage. Hair stretches about 2 1/2 times its length when it is wet and when you stretch it to remove the tangles, that becomes the weakest point which at first frizzes then breaks off causing split ends.

Do not use aerosol hair sprays, They contain wax and wax builds up and causes breakage. Use a pump spray if you have to.

We all lose thousands of hairs each week, which always grow back but your dermatologist is right in that it does decrease as we age.

If your hair loss is hereditary, you seem comfortable with it right now. But down the road, if it bothers you, there are surgeons out there who can do wonders with lasers, plugs or scalp grafts.

It is costly, but saves a lot in peace of mind. I have seen miracle hair replacement surgeries and if anyone can afford it, I would suggest they go for it.

If you need more information, please email me: joprabhu2003@yahoo.comHair/scalp analysis with hair restoration doctors using microscopes?
Examining hair on the scalp for miniaturization is called densitometry and is a sensitive indicator of early hair loss. Although one normally has vellus hair (very fine hair) on the top of their scalp, when a doctor sees a significant number of hairs of varying diameters (miniaturized hairs), it is a relatively diagnostic sign of early balding. If you have recession at the temples, this would be another sign of genetic hair loss.

Putting this aside, once you begin taking finasteride (Propecia) you must continue it indefinitely so I would not start unless you were sure you wanted to be on it long-term.

If you start to experience decreased hair volume overall, in addition to the receded temples, that might be a better time to start the medication. If you are only concerned about future loss, I would not use the medication now regardless of the densitometry reading. As a final comment, the starting dose of finasteride is 1mg a day, not 5mg.

    Hope this information is helpful.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Bernstein

    Hair restoration that works?

is there any, aside from surgical implants?Hair restoration that works?
rogaine worked for me. Im not sure where your going bald but i was loosing my hair in the front of my head. I didnt want to pay the thousands that it costs for a hairtransplant so i figured why not try rogaine. i know its not suppose to be used for the front of the head but i read that as long as hair follices were previously there theres a chance u can regrow hair. Well ive been on it for about 14 weeks now and it has surprising worked. I have small blonde hairs growing in and in some areas its starting to turn to the color of the rest of my hair on top of my head. Ive been using Nioxin shampoo. (costs alot but u get alot in the bottle) Hair stylist reccomended it to me and its says its suppose to remove dht which is a major contributor in going bald. So all in all i say try rogaine and invest in some nioxin. Its a good combo or atleast it was for me. Remember though if u do use rogaine there is a stage where more hair will fall out. Didnt really happen for me but what its doing is taking old hairs old and that allows new ones to grow. Goodluck on whatever u decide on doing though but if u do lose the battle no biggie alot of chicks still dig the bald side of a man

Hair from others is used; they're called wigs.

Transplanting hair from one individual to another doesn't work; the body rejects it.

It could work with anti-rejection drugs, such as they use for organ transplants, but this compromises the immune system, and wouldn't be a good idea, which is why they don't do it in the first place.

  • Hair restoration is it any good?

they take hair from back of head and put it where u r thinning any body know much about thisHair restoration is it any good?
No, the results are usually detectable by anyone up close. It's extremely difficult to make it look natural, because the transplant has to be done so that each hair is growing in exactly the right direction for a natural appearance. Micro-transplants have the greatest success, and are the most expensive. They only transplant a few hairs at a time. Hair plugs are cheaper, but give very poor results.

I recommend simply buzzing your hair if it is thinning; it looks great on most men, and reduces the appearance of baldness. A #1 buzz cut is best.Hair restoration is it any good?
If you want hair off the back of your head and placed nearer the top pretty badly, then it's fine. d:c) Depending on the area you want to cover and the thickness desired, it could take a long time and many stages of transferring follicles. Some discomfort, aggravation with the scalp, and healing time is required with each step. It can look entirely normal to the usual observer if performed well. Roy Clark is a famous example. Check out some close-ups of his photos. He had the surgery somewhere in the HeeHaw days.
    nope
Elton John tried this and it failed for him, but it has worked well for others.

    Luck of the draw really

Should I trust this well-known hair restoration doctor's advice?

Recently, I've been curious about hair loss, for a couple of years I've had a very tiny recession but still have a full head of hair throughout. I went to see this hair restoration doctor in NYC, well-known in the field and provided free consultation but I felt rushed through it, he put some device called the densitometer on me, a device that none of the dermatologists or other hair specialists knew about and said that I exhibited very early signs of genetic hair loss.I told him my father started losing hair and thinning at 46 (56 now) so he immediately prescribed Propecia, he rushed me through the whole consultation and I didnt really get my questions answered well (a lot of I dunno). The whole experience made me unsure whether if I should trust him and spend the $69/mo on Propecia for life if right now I have a full head of hair.I saw a derm and a trichologist and he thought it's not serious at the moment but if i start to exhibit signs then take it or take it to protect it.Should I trust this well-known hair restoration doctor's advice?
It doesn't matter when your father started to bald. You get the hair loss gene from your mother side (her brother's), not your own father. Once you know that, it sort of puts the rest of it into perspective doesn't it?Should I trust this well-known hair restoration doctor's advice?
    Hi There,

It's good of you to hesitate. In short, I suggest consulting another hair loss expert. It doesn't sound like you need a hair restoration procedure. But if you are losing your hair and want to prevent noticible baldness, then Propecia is your best bet.

I had a hair restoration procedure done back in July and am very happy with the results. Mine was a Bosley hair transplantation. The cost of a hair transplantation varies from surgeon -to-surgeon and the severity of the patients hair loss. That said, you can expect to spend $5,000 - $15,000. Since receiving the procedure I have kept a blog called BattleAgainstBald.com. The blog details the results of my Bosley hair transplantation and I also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and the other methods used to correct it.

Since my results have sort of topped off I have invited my friend Torrance to blog about his procedure. He had is done about 90 days ago is already beginning to see results.

I encourage you to check out BattleAgainstBald.com, as I'm sure the information there can answer a lot, if not all of your questions.

Best of luck to you in your battle against bald...

    Eyebrow hair restoration?

Anyone know what the average cost may be for this procedure? I am seriously considering it. I plucked all my brows out (not at one time this happened over a course of time) so now I draw them on everyday (pretty good if you ask me) but I am tired of doing this!!! It drives me insane. The worst part of my day is putting make-up on. Has anyone looked into this or have you had the procedure done? I heard the advertisement on the radio and I am SO tempted to have it done but I'm wondering what the cost is. Thanks!Eyebrow hair restoration?
Oprah had a show on this not long ago, and the makeup artist emphatically stated that eyebrows which have been over tweezed will not come back. I haven't had the procedure but I know some of my clients have and they look great!! Before you go, be sure a licensed aesthician or dermatologist is doing the procedure and double check with the BBB. Visit for a consultation (most of them are free), find out exactly what it entails and explain your expectations of the procedure. It is better to have too much knowledge beforehand than to spend your money and not get what you wanted. Good luck.Eyebrow hair restoration?
Well....I was watching the Tyra Banks show one day and they had an expert on there and she said one way to remedy the effects of overtweezing is to put rogaine on a cotton swab then put it on your eyebrows. The hair should grown back.
just be patient and let them grow back in the meantime get some of that womans rogaine and swab it on the whole brow speeds up the process once they grow back in you will be so happy you waited and kept the money in your pocket!
I've never heard of it ,,, you could get permanent tattooed brows .. a lot of girls who over tweezed are getting them . look into that .
well, the hairs will grow back eventually if you stop plugging the pores with the oils from the eyebrow pencil, but maybe you should look into the hair restoration, it might do you well.

Has anyone had hair restoration from bosley? or any of the other ones out there? or do you know someone?

    Hi there,

I'm glad I found your question. I had a Bosley hair restoration procedure done back in July, 2006 and I couldn't be happier with the results. Since receiving the surgery I have kept a blog called BattleAgainstBald.com, where I've documented the whole thing. In addition to blog entries, pictures, and video, I also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and all the other methods for correcting it.

On my blog I answer all the questions you asked and more. In short, the cost of hair restoration is dependent on the severity of hair loss, but you can expect a good procedure to start at close to $9K. I was pretty bald, so mine was valued at about $12k.

Check out my blog to see for yourself that hair restoration really does work. Let me know if you have anymore questions too.

    Best of luck!

??Whaqts a hair restoration product that if your bald it will grow your hair down to your ears?
nothing yet has been created that can do that. the best option is plugs... natural hair plugs. they surgically remove healthy hair folicles and implant them in a pattern so that it will grow in the bald area, in a patter that will provide the most coverage and look totaly natural. Plus its your own hair so it will grow like normal.

    Hair restoration surgeons vs dermatologists?

26 and have all my hair but I know that hair loss runs on my dad's side of the family. I may have thinned a little on the sides and receded a tiny bit.(but still Norwood 1) Want to protect my hair from future loss but would rather try and stay away from Propecia cuz its costly and may have to take it for life. The fact that I have my hair now at age 26, it may not be the best idea for my health. Saw a well-known hair restoration surgeon who told me that I had extremely early symptoms of thinning (from the fact that I told him my father/uncle had hair loss) and that I should take propecia right away. I found it hard to believe so I went to the derms who agreed that I receded a little but it was not serious. There was no need to be aggressive with medication and that I may be fine for the next 20-30 years. They advised that I take it if i started showing noticeable signs.Who should I trust, derms or the hair doc?Hair restoration surgeons vs dermatologists?
Stop worrying and don't try to go against your genes. What's artificial never looks right anyway. A guy trying to keep baldness at bay is as ridiculous in the eyes of the world as a flat-chested girl trying to hide the fact she's flat.

In any case, there's no shortage of girls who know that baldness is caused by testosterone and guys who are bald are sexy. The women come flocking -- so you're wasting your time, energy and money.

I went to hair club for men and it costs between 250- 350 per month. You have to keep getting new systems cause the real hair dyes and fades. I've dated countless girls and none of them ever detect it. Once you get started though you can take a system to a cheaper online place and get it through them. It's good to start with hair club though.

What is the disadvantage of hair restoration?

    Hi There,

Like all great things, hair restoration does in fact have its disadvantages. For starters, it's a large initial cost and it's a surgical procedure. Also, it kind of hurts and your head will look kind of cross for a 5 - 10 days. Lastly, in some cases, people aren't happy with the results.

For me, it was a great choice, because I was already bald and wanted to effectively cover my baldness fast. I had a Bosley procedure about a year ago and am very happy with the results. I have blogged about the whole thing at BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition to pictures and video from procedure and its results I blog about hair loss and other methods available for correcting it.

Check out the blog, as I think you'll find it useful during your search for information on hair loss and hair restoration.

    Best,

Team BattleAgaisntBaldWhat is the disadvantage of hair restoration?
hair transplants these days can look very natural and totally undetectable by the average person. The drawback would have to be cost. Depending on how much hair loss you have, or will have, the cost could climb up to $15,000 or more. The good thing is, if you start early while your hair loss is minimal, then you can go through transplant sessions over time and spread out the cost. Cost per session would be around $3000 or so. Make sure you research the doctor who will do the surgery completely. Some doctors do this as a side line business. And the results could be less than desireable. Also communicate your expectations and then listen to the doctor about what can realistically be expected. Good luck. What is the disadvantage of hair restoration?
lol, well i'm a girl, but i think i can tell you that if someone i know who's noticibly balding comes in randomly with new great looking hair, i think i would be kind of suspicious.. do you know what i mean, its like ';now you see it, now you don't, and now it's back again'; kind of thing...

Has anyone had success with any non-surgical hair restoration products or treatments? Details?

Yes! The doctor put me on thyroid and since then I have more hair than I know what to do with and in all the places I never really wanted it. A friendly chimpanzee am I

  • Importance of website for salon/hair restoration?

I am wondering how important it would be to have a web page for a salon which is also a hair restoration place. we get calls from the area, but do you think it would do that much to have a website for people to go and look at. would you feel more comfortable making an apointment if you could look online about it first?Importance of website for salon/hair restoration?
I own a cosmetology school, and last year I started advertising on the internet. It's not a webpage, just more of a paragraph about the school and contact info. Just from this, I have gotten more phone calls, so I imagine that a web page would work really well for you. They're relatively inexpensive too

How much hair restoration cost? (hair transplant)?

I am planning to have hair restoration/ transplant.

    1. How much does it cost? Please see my Avatar picture. (hint: my hair is little less than my Avatar picture)

    2. do you reccomend Bosley?

    3. what are the disatvantages of hair transplantation? (except cost)How much hair restoration cost? (hair transplant)?
    1. Costs will depend upon who you go to and where your hair loss is on the Norwood Scale(A chart that shows different degrees of hair loss)

    2. I've heard some bad things about Bosley, including that not all transplant drs are trained by L. Lee Bosley, and that the policy of Bosley is to have a patient for life....i/e meaning they will keep on recommending transplantation, even if you really dont need it. Also their consultants wear white lab coats to give the impression that they are doctors, when in fact theyre not.Theyve also been accused of doctoring up photos to make the transplanted area look alot fuller than what it actually is.

Your best bet is to check out different sights like hairloss portal.com.Sights that have been created to help people in your sitiation that are non biased. You may also want to consider checking out Extreme Makeover and see who they use. I know NHI has done a few transplants for them as well as I believe was a company called the Sword group, but I really cant remember.

    3.The disadvantages are(besides cost).

    A. If done incorrectly,it will look like a transplant

    B. Pain, especially in the donor area(The back of the head where they remove a strip of hair to be used for the transplants

    C. Redness in the transplanted area can last for weeks

    D. The slight risk that the transplants might not take. How much hair restoration cost? (hair transplant)?

Try Pantene's Deep Conditioning-thing. You can find it in pharmacies/wal-mart type stores. Ive used it a few times and while my hair was healthy to begin with it really made it much much softer. For your split ends, no product will make them better. It's sad but you'll have to get them cut a little to make them better. Hope this helps, good luck! :) Oh, and it shouldn't be that pricey either, the Pantene conditionning treatment.
Best shampoo and conditioner I have found is Goldwell Rich Repair. SO good. Saved my hair when I majorly over bleached it. It is about $19.95, but often they have deals where you get shampoo %26amp; conditioner for $30 all together.

  • Any good hair restoration products that WORK?

The ONLY one that is medically approved is Rogaine. You have to follow instructions and it will work but you have to put it on daily (I think) and do it like that until your hair starts growing out. It affects the root and the hair shaft.Any good hair restoration products that WORK?

I just tried the tub of SunSilk (pink one). It is a hydrating hair mask. I actually left it on over night and my hair was a lot more softer and shinier. I put a lot of the cream in my hair, then I covered my whole head with a grocery sack (the clear kind that you put fruits and vegetables in- it's smaller). Then, I wrapped my head in one of those turban towels and I slept comfortably all night. It worked for me. good luck!

Is hair restoration best way to get your back, and is there any other to grow hair or make it thincker?

There are some good options out there. There is Rogaine, it is over the counter and helps prevent DHT from attacking the hair follicles. Then there is Propecia, its a pill that needs to be perscribed by a doctor. Then there is the laser hair comb. Its a new product that has been approved by the FDA.

Do u think hair restoration medicenes work?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

    What is Hair Restoration?

I heard the doctors just take hair from your *** or inside the corners of your anus and put it on your head. Is that true? What is Hair Restoration?
1-I have natural and have very kinky, curly hair as well. I am so familiar with this problem. Before I give you any advice about products and such I have to tell you that it takes a while for the hair to be trained and once your hair is trained then it really doesn鈥檛 matter what kind of products you use. In my opinion shampoo and conditioner is not such a big deal. I use Tresemme shampoo and conditioner,I always use a leave in conditioner, as well as a heat protector spray by Tresemme. Also, rinse with tepid water, actually as cool as you can take it, it makes the hair shine. After that I use the leave in conditioner and the heat protector spray. I try to let my hair air dry as much as possible to illuminate the amount of heat. So, then I blow dry! This is when the Super Skinny Serum comes in to play, then I use a light oil, like Hot Six. Its a liquid, this helps to lubricate the hair so that it doesn鈥檛 singe while flat ironing. Now, use a small amount of oil but for the first day it will seem a little heavy but not super heavy, you will still have major body. Always remember to wrap your hair at night with a soft/slick material so that it doesn鈥檛 pull or split. One last thing, a lot of people spend macho bucks on expensive flat irons but I kid you not, I paid 15 bucks for my flat iron and it is the best one I have ever owned. I wouldn鈥檛 make it without my flat iron. It is Andris and I purchased from Walmart Actually all of the products I use can be bought from Walmart.I hope this information is helpful. Don鈥檛 lose hope and remember once you train your hair it will be almost as if you have a different texture and then it will be more manageable..

I have a thin spot at the top corner of my hairline. When I got my hair straightened, it all broke off and I had this weird place at my hairline with short fine spikes and it wasn't growing back out. I am an Arbonne consultant and we have this product called Thermal Fusion Hair and Scalp revitalizer. I had some on hand because it comes as a free product with the men's skin care set that I bought for my hubby. So I tried it and my hair started significantly growing back out within 3 weeks. It may take a few weeks or even a little over a month to see the results because it is causing changes at the cellular level, but if you want to try it, I could arrange for a free sample. Arbonne also has a return policy if you ever are not happy for any reason. If you do like it, you can always sign on as a wholesale buyer even if you don't want to do it as a biz.Is hair restoration for women effective?

Dandruff has nothing to do with hair loss. You can use Rogaine to regrow your lost hair. It does work, but you have to use it forever, if you stop using it, you will lose what grew back. That can get expensive especially since you're so young, so you might want to go ahead and decide if it is really that big a deal to you.

I looked into this when I started losing my hair at 21. I was losing it at the corners of my hairline, in spanish its called entradas. I was really depressed and went to my doctor about this. He said that before deciding to do anything try Rogaine. My hairline has almost completely been restored. They even have a new Foam version, which unlike the other greasy oily version, absorbs quickly into the scalp, and leaves no evidence of its use. I know the box says its only for the back of the head, but thats BS, it works in the front too, they just didn't test it there, so they can't claim it.

Do you agree Zach Lund of the US Skeleton crew should be banned for taking a hair restoration pill?

Is the ban on certain substances getting too ridiculous?Do you agree Zach Lund of the US Skeleton crew should be banned for taking a hair restoration pill?
If the hair restoration pill contains a banned substance then yes he should be banned. The fact that the principle use of the medication may be to grow hair doesn't really matter if one of the ingredients is banned by the IOC then the athlete must either avoid ingesting the substance or else face the consequences.

If an athlete took a medication for an earache and that medicine contained cocaine the athlete couldn't expect us to believe them when they say: ';Hey...I have a sore ear so I take Ear-B-Gone,I didn't take it for the cocaine that is also in it that may enhance my performance!'; The athlete should have used another treatment for his sore ear, one that did not contain a banned substance.

If a certain toothpaste was available at the store and the ingredients were mint leaves and bovine growth hormone then an athlete should probably not use it since the growth hormone was a banned substance...he couldn't expect us to believe that he or she used the toothpaste just for teeth whitening.

Athletes have access to top medical and health information so they should be well informed by their medical/health team what they are putting in their Olympic bodies.

If Zach Lund is follicly challenged then he should deal with the situation in another way, one that does not involve using a medication that contains a banned substance, like maybe a wig.

Besides, a lack of hair would make an athlete more aerodynamic and thus much faster!Do you agree Zach Lund of the US Skeleton crew should be banned for taking a hair restoration pill?
Propecia can have performance enhancing effects, and he should know better. The banned substances are not a secret.
    No. That is ridiculous.

If so, has anyone tried them and where you pleased with the results?A question for Aussies. Has anyone heard of a hair restoration company by the name of, ';Innovative Hair loss?
as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections, hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also I used herbal treatment - Provillus (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

It is a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=221781

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

Has anyone had a hair restoration surgery? If you have, does it work good?

I've tried Rogaine and some other stuff, but need a more permanent solution to my hair loss. A Toupee or wig is not an option.

    Thanks!Does hair restoration surgery work?
Yes, hair restoration surgery does work. I had a hair transplantation procedure back in July and couldn't be happier with the results. Ever since receiving the procedure from Bosley in Seattle I have kept a blog called BattleAgainstBald.com, which documents the whole thing. In addition to seeing the progression of my hair restoration results I provide a lot of other useful information on hair loss and the methods of correcting it.

I encourage you to visit BattleAgainstBald.com and see for yourself that hair restoration does in fact work.

All the best in your battle!

After using it for a while I cant get my pants buttoned now.Have you ever used that hair restoration stuff Regain?
It's called Rogaine - unless you're using some cheap knockoff, which might explain why it's going to your gut and not your head.Have you ever used that hair restoration stuff Regain?
I don't even know how to answer this one. Are you trying to say you gained weight since using Rogaine? Never heard of that, but it does get in your blood stream. I guess you have to decide what a chic wants more Bald guy or Fat guy.
You might want to get a bigger size pant. Or perhaps just wear elastic waist pant from now on.

Are you going to use it on your back as well? I would recommend it, this way you don't appear so lopsided.
I was going to post some smart*** remark about your pants...

but then I got to wondering...

exactly HOW did you manage to loose your pubes in the first place????
It's very important to read the label of every health care product you use! Side effects can vary tremendously, but in this case reading the intended results of the particular product you selected would have helped.

So is it now back to Adkins? Ketosis schmosis! Life should be all about eating animals anyway...
Yes. What do you think of my hairdo?
What, did you confuse the KY with Regain? You must look a sight with your hairy palms and now this! Are you sure you aren't Bigfoot?

Has anyone tried Bosley hair restoration?

My husband and I are looking into it. My husband has been losing his hair for a couple years now and he's only 24. We went to their website but it doesn't say how much it costs. It says it depends on the patient but we need a ballpark figure. If it's more than like $3000, we're not even going to consider it. He can wear a hat!Has anyone tried Bosley hair restoration?
try tea from equisetum arvense (field horsetail, prele, skrzyp). look it up on wikipedia, it doesn`t say anything about hairloss but i had a lady recommend to me after she`s lost her hair in chemotherapy -- which by looking at her, i never would have guessed.

my personal experience is that i stopped shedding altogether. also, get him to massage the scalp to increase blood flow. make sure he`s got the right amount of vitamins (if he`s malnourished try pregnancy, nursing vitamins), and after i suggest a vitamin b complex and a multivitamin.

try nioxin as a shampoo. its about $30 a bottle. you only really need the cleanser. its good if you`ve got dandruff, clogged pores, fungal infections on your skin etc. other products are a little much, maybe the follicle booster every so often would be a good idea.

start with preserving what you have. then start thinking about regrowth. ps, the tea you can find for about $2-$4 at some ethnic shops in canada. i`ve given the english, french and polish names for the stuff. good luck.Has anyone tried Bosley hair restoration?
I think a hat is what he is going to be wearing....all those hair treatment places cost MEGABUCKS....and there is no sure proof way to make sure that what they do will work.....

If you're trying to put back oils into your hair you can try using either olive oil gently heated, and rub into your hair starting with your scalp (with fingers) as this stimulates the scalp and helps produce natural oils, or an avocado mashed in with some oil and leave in your hair for around half hour (like a mask but for your hair) every week until you start to see some improvement. Hope this helps.x

Have you had a hair transplant? or other hair restoration?

Looking for any men or woman that have had hair transplants or other hair restoration procedures. What were the costs for your procedure what was your procedure and was it worth it. I am planning to get something done. I'm 26 years old and losing hair in the front of my head and its driving me nuts. I do not have the kind of head that looks good bald and rogaine wont work for my hair loss. I may sound insecure with my hair problem and thats because I am I cant deal with it and i'm going to have to get something done. Thanks for any information you can pass on and god bless.Have you had a hair transplant? or other hair restoration?
Not wanting to go bald isn't necessarily an insecurity issue. It's more of a preference in my opinion. After all, thanks to modern medicine, us bald(ing) men have options.

I had a Bosley hair restoration procedure back in July and couldn't be happier with the results. Instead of answering your questions here I recommend you check out my blog at BattleAgainstBald.com, I answer all of your questions and more. In addition to pictures and video of my procedure's results I also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and all the methods out there for correcting it.

Yes, you can get your hairline moved down, but its going to cost plenty. They take hair from the back of your head and transplant it to where you want it to be. Guys have this done all the time so I don't see why you can't use this procedure to get what you want.

Does Bosley Hair Restoration actually work?

I got the Bosley Hair restoration dvd for my husband but i was wondering if it actually works.Does Bosley Hair Restoration actually work?
I always felt that if someone invented hair restoration that actually worked, you'd know it when you suddenly noticed that there were no more bald rich guys.Does Bosley Hair Restoration actually work?
Yes, hair can be transplanted from one area of the scalp to another. The transplanting of the hair is not the issue. It is having enough hair to redistribute to the bald/thinning areas. There are currently two widely used methods of harvesting the grafts. The older method, follicular unit strip surgery, involves cutting a strip of hair from around the sides and back of the head about 1/4'; by 9'; long. Then dissecting it into 1,2 and 3 hair grafts to transplant under a microscope. Of course the scalp in th area of th surgery has to be stapled together. The problem comes with tighter scalps limiting strip surgeries and limiting the number of grafts. Since the scalp is rejoined where the strip is extracted, the hair on the back/sides is as thick as ever and the transplanted top can never be as thick. The newer method is FUE(follicular unit extraction), also know as the wood's technique. The 1,2 and 3 hair transplants are removed individually over a large area of the back/sides, thinning the back/sides. There is no problem with scalp tightness limiting grafts. Also, less invasive as there is no cutting with scalpels involved and no stapling of the scalp together. Only a topical anesthetic is used. FUE tends to be more expensive than a strip surgery to harvest the grafts. There is a lot of information on the internet on both methods. The transplanting of the grafts is largely the same. It is the way the grafts are harvested that differs. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, an unlimited supply of grafts to transplant will be able to be grown in a lab.

    Good Luck!

How do i stop massive hair loss? I can't afford the Hair restoration method.?

Is there anything which can immediately stop my hair loss. I am really scared that i might get bald very soon. How do i stop massive hair loss? I can't afford the Hair restoration method.?
anyway as we know - hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.com/?id=fc7a24

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

    good luck!

not only my and my husband`s own personal experienceHow do i stop massive hair loss? I can't afford the Hair restoration method.?
The best thing is going to the trichologist. If money is the issue as it may be address under cosmetic problems. You can try the followings:

1.Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables, which contain flavonoids and antioxidants that may provide protection for the hair follicles and encourage hair growth

2.Avoid pigtails, cornrows, hair weaves, braids and tight hair rollers which can pull and stress your hair

3.Supplement your diet with the following nutrients:

    * Vitamin B complex (Category A)

    * Biotin (Possibly safe; orally and appropriately)

    * Vitamin C (Category A)

    * Vitamin E ( Likely safe if amount does not exceed the RDA; possibly safe if it does)

    * Zinc (Likely safe when used orally and appropriately; likely unsafe when used orally in high doses)

4.Use shampoos and conditioner that contain biotin and silica.

Lastly if you want something that i already used and shows a good result on me . Visit http://www.EliminateBaldingFast.com
Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.

1.Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow..

    2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.

    3. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently..

    4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.

    5. Beat two eggs, and add two tablespoons of water to it. Rinse hair and pour the egg mixture over the hair.Massage the scalp well and leave for 10 minutes. Then wash it.
1st of all, dont panic! Hair always grows back. Ppl lose 100 hairs a day, but if its more than that, you should prob call a doctor, to get a blood test to see if you have enough iron. Take a multivitamin, when I had hairloss, even flinstones helped lol. Biotin is an essential mineral for growth. Hair loss can be from over washing/blowdrying, too much grease in hair, too much brushing, stress, and most importantly poor diet. Make sure you eat right, and enough. This is why people with anorexia experience hair loss. Also, be gentle with it, and drink LOTS of water, it helps, trust me.
Talk to your doctor if your seriously concerned- there is a disease that makes your hair fall out. (Not cancer)

If not, do you use alot of heated tools like straighteners or curlers? That can make your hair fall out as well.

Also, when your hair is wet, use a comb rather than a brush.
Vitamins B, C, F, zinc, iron, copper and protein are essential for hair growth. Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
Use this cheap solution. natural way work best.

Any guys have any good advice on hair restoration treatments?

I am just doing some research on hair restoration. And I wanted to get some opinions and peoples results from different products and treatments they have used.Any guys have any good advice on hair restoration treatments?
so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks.(if your hair is really healthy then up the trims to about every 12 weeks, a trim is just a snip off the ends) if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the growth part of the e to kick in. the other benefits are instant. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins going on four months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap and also promotes hair regrowth and growth. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online.(puritans pride.com or vitadigest.com) five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. i now take my fingers and message my scalp about five times a week, along with the brushing thats a good way to do it without damaging your hair. apply two or three capsules of e to dry hair and message into scalp and hair really well, put damp towel in microwave for 1 min to get hot, then quickly wrap head, a dry towel can be placed over that to help hold in the heat, leave on for 15 min, shampoo well, makes an excellent hot oil treatment. good luck, AND some people will argue about regular trims, your hair does grow from the roots, yes, but if your hair is not trimmed at the bottom, the it splits, get dry and brittle not to mention thin looking from no trims at all and frizzy. then your hair starts to break off at the bottom and giving you the appearance that it never grows. so to make hair grow as fast as possible and keep it healthy, then trims are an essential part of hair care. look on a ruler and check out less then half an inch and if your salon does not know what that is then take a ruler with you, i have. as of five weeks ago adding beta carotene vitamins to my regimen. i found out that along with the biotin it is very very good in promoting hair growth. they were five bucks for a bottle of 100. got them at walmart. the biotin and e can also be purchased at walmart, and adding all this up is pretty cheap to get great hair. i just wish the shampoo was available in the stores, but not yet.

Hair restoration: If they take from the sides of head and put it on top, then are the sides bald?

During hair restoration surgery, I understand that they take hair follicles from the sides and back of the head and put it where you are balding. So does that mean that the sides and back of your head are now partially bald?Hair restoration: If they take from the sides of head and put it on top, then are the sides bald?
No. They bunch up the skin on a line on the back of the head (dosen't extend much into the sides), take out that strip, extract the hair follicles from that, and transplant that. They staple the strip line closed, and it heals into a fine line. See the Hairsite: http://hairsite.com/

Does Rogaine really work? Is there any other hair restoration products that work better?

The mr. is having some self esteem issue due to a receding hairline. I can't even tell but he thinks he can. He's been asking a lot of questions about Rogaine...but I always assumed it was just a gimmick. Any thoughts?Does Rogaine really work? Is there any other hair restoration products that work better?
It really works; thus the FDA approval. Being old enough to remember it going through the approval process, I am also old enough to have lost a lot of hair. My thoughts from experience are - age with dignity, not vanity. Don't worry about your hair; in the end you have to accept the aging process, and drugs and transplants don't fully replace your hair any more than you get to be 23 again. Also, a wife who's obviously still very attracted to you does wonders for the self-esteem. Finally, I don't think self-esteem ought to come mostly from one's hair.Does Rogaine really work? Some of my patients have used it. It works for some it doesn't (in terms of long term). Short term use it does work (6 months at most).

Currently the best way is to get a plastic surgeon (a skilled one that is). Is to remove a man's back hair, cut about 5-18 slits in the head (number of slits varies on how close man is to balding). And then doing some types of stitching to complete it. So far, most people who have had this type of cosmetic procedure are successful in having full head of hair that resembles their early 20s. Currently there is Plastic Surgeon who is milking this technique in California and Toronto. But he has hundreds of consulting offices around the world (last time i checked it was 120)
Hi I have been using this product .It really works. In one month the hair will stop falling and in 3 to 4 months new hair will begin to grow. But it only works with regular use.And after he quits using the product the hair will start falling again and with more speed I guess
Rogaine does have some success in getting hair to grow back but he would have to continue using it forever. If he stops the hair will just fall out and he's back to square one. I don't think they mention the lifetime use on the package?
idk if it works or not, but my math teacher in 7th grade was balding and i always called him ';rogaine failure';. Ohhh good times.

What is the average cost for medical hair restoration?

I am virtually bald on the top of my head and I just wanted to know if medical hair restoration is very expensive or affordable. Thank you,What is the average cost for medical hair restoration?
Hmm, for starters, you really need to call some beauticians around in your area.

Better yet, I recall plusrecipes.com having a beautician site where they offer great deals, like free estimates from local ';beauticians'; in your area whom I'm guessing would be able to better address and assess the cost of fixing your baldness problem or at least refer you to their hair-pro colleagues--heck right now one ad-link says you could get something like 50% off or something--here's the link:
